Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni or pasta of choice

Honey Pepper Chicken

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper adjust to taste

Cheese Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the honey pepper chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the cooked chicken, honey, cracked black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir until warmed through and glossy. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Make the roux: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until smooth and lightly bubbly.
  • Add the milk: Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens into a smooth base.
  • Melt the cheese: Lower the heat and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese until fully melted and creamy. Season with garlic powder and salt.
  • Combine and serve: Add the cooked pasta and honey pepper chicken to the cheese sauce. Stir gently until everything is well coated. Serve warm and enjoy.
