Ingredients
  

Chicken and Sandwich Base

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce or Hawaiian-style marinade

Toppings

  • 1 cup pineapple slices fresh or canned
  • 4 slices Swiss or provolone cheese
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • lettuce and sliced red onion optional

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the chicken: Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Grill the chicken: Place chicken on a preheated grill over medium heat. Grill for 5–7 minutes per side, brushing with teriyaki sauce during the final minutes.
  • Grill the pineapple: Grill pineapple slices for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly caramelized and warmed through.
  • Melt the cheese: Top each chicken breast with a slice of cheese during the last minute of grilling. Close the lid to melt.
  • Toast the buns: Lightly toast the sandwich buns on the grill for added flavor and texture.
  • Assemble the sandwiches: Layer grilled chicken, pineapple, and optional toppings on the buns. Serve warm.
