Bread Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

  • Preheat and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan and set aside.
  • Cream butter and honey: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth, then slowly mix in the honey until creamy and well combined.
  • Add eggs: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix the batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in pecans: Gently fold in the chopped pecans, making sure they are evenly distributed.
  • Bake the bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
