Ingredients
  

Pizza Base

  • 1 pizza dough store-bought or homemade

Toppings

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup onions thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese Swiss, mozzarella, or a blend
  • 1/3 cup burger-style sauce or special sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven: I preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Cook the beef: In a skillet, I cook the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper until browned, then set it aside.
  • Caramelize the onions: In the same skillet, I slowly cook the onions until soft and golden, bringing out their natural sweetness.
  • Prepare the crust: I roll out the pizza dough and place it on the prepared baking surface.
  • Assemble the pizza: I spread the sauce over the dough, then evenly layer the beef, caramelized onions, and shredded cheese.
  • Bake the pizza: I bake the patty melt pizza for 15–18 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Rest and slice: I let the pizza rest for a few minutes before slicing so everything holds together nicely.
