Ingredients
  

Chili Base

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans kidney beans, drained 15 oz cans
  • 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz

Seasonings

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Brown the beef: Place a large pot over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned and no longer pink.
  • Sauté the aromatics: Add the diced onion to the pot and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add tomatoes and beans: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and drained beans. Mix well to combine.
  • Season the chili: Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly distributed.
  • Simmer gently: Reduce heat to low and let the chili simmer uncovered for 40–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and flavorful.
  • Serve and enjoy: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like cheese, sour cream, or cornbread.
