Smothered Chicken
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika optional
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 large onion sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour for gravy
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
Season the chicken: Sprinkle chicken evenly with salt, pepper, and paprika on both sides.
Sear the chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken until golden on both sides. Remove and set aside.
Cook the onions: Add onions to the same skillet and cook until soft and lightly caramelized. Stir in garlic.
